To run multiple instances of MobaXterm in Windows, you must ensure it is configured first in the settings. You must ensure that MobaXterm is configured in the settings before running numerous instances in Windows. Here is the how-to guide to do it.
Settings changes for Multiple instances
Go to: MobaXterm -> Menu Settings -> Configuration
Click on the Misc TAB
Check “Allow multiple instances of MobaXterm”
Click the OK button.

How to start a second (or third and so on) MobaXterm instance?
Let us explore a quicker way of opening MobaXterm multi-instance
- Open your first MobaXterm instance
- Then, from the Windows 10 taskbar
- Right-click on the MobaXterm tab (or the icon)
- Then click on MobaXterm from the right-click pop-up menu.
Your new MobaXterm instance will be opening in a few seconds!
